Effectiveness of Several Concentrations of Entomopathogenic Nematode (Steinernema spp.) On Mortality of Spodoptera exigua Hub. in Onions

Spodoptera exigua is one of the main pests that attack onion. An alternative can be done to control onion caterpillars by using entomopathogenic nematode (Steinernema spp.) environmentally friendly. This research aimed obtain concentration Steinernema spp. most effective in causing mortality S. plants. The experiment was carried out from January August 2020 at Citeureup, North Cimahi, Cimahi City West Java. method used this an experimental with a randomized block design, consisted six treatments and four replications. (number infective juvenile -IJ) were 0 IJ ml-1 (control), 1000 ml-1, 2000 3000 4000 5000 ml-1. results showed application concentrations shallot plants (85.0 ± 5.0 %) 72 hours after application. However, there tendency for treatment above density decrease frugiperda. Therefore, it very necessary consider optimum population nematoentomopathogens produce high target insect pests.
